Question:
I'm running the London marathon
this year and have been low carbing
for
about 6 months now. I was wondering
if anyone has any good places to
look for advice on food for training.
I have The
Ketogenic Diet - Lyle McDonald but
have not the time to read it all
to find the relevant information.
It may sound like I'm being lazy
but I'm studying at the moment and
with Marathon training taking up
the rest of my time, everytime I
pick up the book my eyes start to
close.
At the moment I just do what seems
to be right at the time, but 15
mile runs tend to do strange things
to the body anyway, so I'm learning
what my body can take training wise
and need some help with nutrition.
All the marathon literature points
towards pasta and carbs so I ignore
that part of it and use the training
tips.
I have read Slow Burn by Stu Mittleman,
which I thought was a brilliant
book, however I would like to have
his views confirmed by someone else.
I can find loads of literature about
knee injuries etc but little on
Low carbing and marathon training.
Hope someone can point me in the
right direction of something a little
less
time consuming than 'The Ketogenic
Diet'
Answer:
There's no shortcuts. Most of what
I would pass along to you would
be from 'The Ketogenic Diet'. Too
bad you won't take the time, it
could explain most of what you want
to know.
