Question:
Does anybody have any direct or
indirect experience with the Certified
Nutrionist program offered by the
AHSU (American Health Science University)
- ? I'm trying to work out if this
is something worth doing.I'm a personal
trainer and triathlete, and would
like to improve my own knowledge
of nutrition.
Unfortunately,
I can not afford the time or money
to do a full-time study course for
anything more than 3 months, especially
if it's in overseas (I'm in the
UK). So, the distance program appeals
to me.2 years and several thousand
dollars is still a sizeable investment
and the AHSU website doesn't reure
me much, it doesn't look very updated.
Is it a legitimate and respected
certification ?
Answer:
What are the requirements for becoming
a Certified Nutritionist in Great
Britain? I have been looking in
to this myself and I live in Lincolnshire.
I am a breast cancer survivor and
have used nutrition to help me overcome
my disease.I have looked at many
different courses and have decided
on the Plaskett Nutritional Medicine
College. I don't know if this is
for you but you could have a look
and see if it meets your requirements.
The qualifications are recognised
(as far as I'm aware) by all the
governing bodies here in the UK.
The course I'm about to take is
3-4 years and is in 3 parts. The
final part is in clinic training.
The cost for all 3 parts is £4,200.
